The Final Version of the Photo Gallery is up.

I've created a finalized version of the image gallery. A tribute to the glory of my 2.5RS known as Takeshi. He was a great car, and will live on forever. I had many great memories and he served me well. He will always be remembered.

Go check out the last version of the image gallery. It will take you from the beginning of my ownership, through our adventures right up until the end. You can see the car change as I mod it through the years. Hope you enjoy it.

I got a new 2004 WRX!
Today I went to take a few of the after-market parts off of my 2001 2.5RS, as well as the licence plates. Afterwards I went up to Nashua Subaru to begin shopping for a new car.

Our plan was to go to shop around at Nashua Subaru, Cityside in Arlington MA, and Norwood Subaru. We had already gotten a quote on an 04 WRX for $26,800 in Somersette.

Up in Nashua we found a Java Black 2004 WRX with some great options
17" Rimms
Boost gague
Moon roof
Carbon Fiber trim
Wheel locks
Short-Throw Shifter

We told the salesman (Jose) that we were going to shop around, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. He gave us an offer of $25,600. We again told him we were in the beginning of the shopping phase, and hadent even gotten the quote on the totaled 2.5RS yet. He said to call them up, and get it. So we did.

(insert insurance company negotiations for after-market parts prices, faxing reciepts at from Nashua Subaru to the insurance, etc, we get a quote on the RS)

We tell Jose we're just shopping around, and really want to wait until we've shopped around.

Jose says $24,800. I discuss the implications with my partner, and after talking for about 20 minutes decide that no matter where else we're gonna go, its not going to be any better than this.

I'm picking it up tuesday.

RIP 2.5RS
February 2002 - October 2003

Insurance guy got back to me today, he deemed the car "Totaled". Tomorrow i'm going to take off most of the after-market parts, take some last pictures, and say goodbye. After that I'll think about what to do next.

If I can find another 2001 2.5RS for with less than 55,000 miles, for less than $12,000 then maybe I'll get one. Maybe I'll get a WRX. I'm not sure yet.

Leave your condolences here.

Pictures of the crash here.

Just waiting to hear from the insurance people. Hopefully I'll get to take out my mods if they claim it as a "Total loss", thats the front lip, all the clear lights, and the cobb CAI. If thats the case, I would want a 2001 2.5RS Coupe, so the mods would just switch over. One of the tail lights is broken, i'm pretty sure the rear swaybar is fucked. I don't know if i'd be able to get the springs out.

I'll keep updating.

Hey, bad news.

I was in an accident last night. I was on the way to check if Krispy Creame was opened for some morning donuts, on 93N on ramp from Storrow Drive, the one that merges onto the 93N bridge into the left lane, above Somerville. That ramp is really long, and as i got to the merger, this guy flew up from behind me really quick, got on my tail, and as soon as the cement wall dividor ended, he flew past over the median, across the middle lane and into the right lane.

I don't know what happened to him over there (in my blind spot), but next thing i know i see headlights straight at my passenger side, and the guy is flying back across the highway right into my passeng side rear door.

My tail-end spins out into the left wall i'm next to, the car spins back to the right 180 degrees around, and i hit the wall facing backwards. THe car rolls back, hits the wall again and jumps up, and comes to a stop.

His car is against the right wall about 200 feet behind.

A black honda pulls up on the right side of the highway, and looks his he is trying to help. I get out of the car, and ask if hes alright, his cars not damaged, so i think he was trying to help.

I run over to his side, and the other driver (the guy who hit me) is running down. We all decide we're ok. Then the guy who hit me (GuyA) tells the honda to drive away, because we're ok.

At this point i flip out, and tell GuyA he is wrong, and crazy, and tell the honda guy that i needed his information because he was a witness. GuyA continues to tell him that he can leave.

The police arrive on the South side of the highway, and i run over to him to tell him that GuyA is trying to get the witness to leave. At this point the witness drives away (we didn't get the plate number).

We then tell each of our stories, and from what the police told me, he said i rear-ended him. (my front has no damage whatsoever).

My rear end is fucked back, both back wheels are fucked, and my passenger side is fucked.

I told this girl in the tow truck...

"My car is my life, my car is dead..... what does that mean for me?"

A week ago I posted a "Wanted" ad for a used Cobb Cold Air Intake. These don't really take any wear, so I figured I'd get it used since its $269 new. I got in touch with this guy in Melrose who was moving in a week, and was getting rid of his for $150. So I got it.

The installation was pretty simple and took about 30 minutes. It gives the car more high-end pull, and its a bit louder. I love it.

I also forgot to post about my STi rear-lip spats that I installed sometime last week. I forget exactly when. Me and Aleksey did it. You can read more about it here.

Went to Exeter Subaru on Tuesday to get the car re-aligned and have the Check-Engine light checked out. It was just as the error code said "P0328: Knock Sensor High Output" or "your knock sensor is fucked" as would be translated into English. I got that fixed for $195 for parts and labor. I also got a chance to meet Brian or North Ursalia as he is known on the North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club. He works in the parts department and is a great guy. He hooked me up with 2 parts that would have costed me $300, for $210!!!

I finally got to install my STi springs on Saturday. It took about 4 hours, maybe 5 at Kevins Subaru Garage day in Chelmsford. The impact wrench made such a big difference in time. Some tasks would have been impossible without it.

For pics of the days events go here.

Myself, Q, Brendon and Alex tried to install my STi springs on Monday, but we couldn't get the strut-cap off. Looks like i'll be waiting to the 20th for an NASIOC garage-day to do it. Hopefully they'll have the proper tools.

I updated the design of the site a bit tonight. The major difference is the size of the news posting frame, and the navigation bar is now HTML instead of images, and its on the top bar. Before there was just dead space next to the car images. I've also added a few sections.

Have fun and leave me a message in the "Messages" Section.

Today I installed the new Subaru STi parts that I got in the mail yesterday. The installation took about 1 hour, and it was pretty easy. I was a bit suprised how nice the part snapped right into place. I think it looks great. How about you?

Another great track day yesterday. Me, Alex, and his cousin Yegor had a great time. It was a pretty cool day, I think temps only reached 78 or so. I met a bunch of people from the New England Nissan 240SX Club who are all pretty cool people.

Photos of the days event

Heres a Highlight.

I took this picture yesterday with my new digital camera. We had just had a huge thunder storm, and everything was yellow outside, the lights were wierd. All the cars headlights looked bluish, like HIDs. I snapped this shot. No sepia or photoshopping was done on this picture.
